What if Ryan had asked Simon, "It seems like you were a bit nicer last night in your judge's critiques, is there anything we should know?"
You got a seven figure contract for questions like this? I'm neither nice nor mean in my critiques, I'm quite simply honest. What do developing stars need more than anything? Honesty, Ryan. They need to be told when they're terrible and when they're brilliant. When the star quality hits the stage, someone should say so. If my comments seemed more supportive, it might be a produce of eliminating those where were ghastly from the competition. This season, despite all the hype, come finalists who were actually terrible. I don't see many of them going on to anything even remotely related to music. We are finally down to a group that can sing and could be the next American Idol.
Running Commentary:
What was the point of the Brit Week send off – it was pure fluffery.
The Carole King Medley - this was simply an atrocious choice like choosing to be stuck in an elevator in Coral Gables
No offense to the creative teams behind the Ford Music Videos - but tonight's was relatively pointless.
Wow to the Crystal Bowersox performance – it's sad to see she's gone down the country road right into irrelevancy.
The AT&T® questions of the Idol finalists? If these were the best questions submitted, they shouldn't have bothered. They were just plain dull and self-indulgent. Clearly , they were more of a plug for the concept ofthan they were of any interest to anyone. Now, I'll be there were some interesting and relevant questions in the mix.
Result Revelations
Haley is safe! 1 point for America.
Why toy with Scotty, surely he's safe.
James is safe! 2 points for America.
Lauren is safe! 3 points USA.
Results are in random order.
Jacob is safe.
Clearly, it's Casey who will be gone.
Casey Abrams was announced as the one to be eliminated.
With all due respect to Casey's musicality, this was a long-overdue. 6 points for America. They made the right call.
It is just a shame that the true bottom 3 were not revealed. It certainly wasn't Scotty. My guess is it was Jacob and Lauren.
Casey's parting shot on the kitchen counter in the mansion standing and kicking stuff off was the sort of vintage odd boggery that became his signature and his downfall. Too bad, old chap, the immaturity finally took its toll.
A blog that attempts to parody the critiques of former Idol judge Simon Cowell as both tribute to his excellence and realism and loyal devotion to the reality check he brought to the contestants.

Top 6 Performance Show – Intro
| Intro | Solos | Casey | Haley | Jacob | James | Lauren | Scotty |
| Duets: | Casey & Haley | Lauren & Scotty | James and Jacob|
What if Ryan asked Simon, "Would you say there is a frontrunner at this point in the top 6?"
I think it's obvious that this crop is strong now that most of the weaker competitors are eliminated. Unfortunately, I'd say there are really only two left who have what it takes to carry the torch and those two are James and Scotty. The others are too quirky like Casey or immature like Lauren. My prediction for the final three are Haley, James, and Scotty. I think James and Scotty will split the votes. It's difficult to say who will win it all, but certainly Casey is probably next to go. The performances tonight could make all the difference in the world.

"I Feel the Earth Move" by Carole King
Haley you looked gorgeous and exhibited style and star quality. Pairing you with Casey was a great choice to ensure you would truly shine and stand above the competition. Casey, I'm sorry, but that was a boring, tired, and lackluster. There might not even be cruise ships calling after that.

"Beautiful" by Carole King
Again you looked the amazing. You have trouble picking songs that work for you. This song was all over the place, highs and lows for me, but if I had to pick who will join James and Scotty in the final three, it would be me.

What if Ryan had asked Simon, "What did you make of all the controversy over last night's show?"
What controversy?
"You know, the kiss viewed round the world and certain colorful language?"
Ryan this is show business. It's live television. This isn't a show for six year olds. But, actually, the kiss was amiss. I thought it was gratuitous and unnecessary. In my world, it put Casey automatically in the bottom three if not sends him home even if he wasn't the worst performance. It's like an inappropriate swan song. You have to hand it to Jennifer for taking this affront so well.
I'd also like to say that James's performance was the first one I could highly recommend people pay to download from iTunes®. It was something not to be missed.
Casey is safe? Wow, that's stunning. I would definitely have put him in the bottom three. As for Jacob, that was probably to be expected.
Stefano to the bottom three quite expected.
I will make the wager now, that unfortunately, Haley will be in the bottom three, not Scotty.
One of the things that's so nice about this season's contestants is they way they have been taking their blows. They are so classy.
It will be sad if Jacob goes home because of technological glitches. Nonetheless, they both have gone farther than anyone could have predicted.
Stefano's ousting was really to be expected in some ways. indeed, though he will be missed. What was powerful to me was James's response. It is clear that these contestants have bonded in ways we've not really seen in past seasons. It's endearing and speaks to the character of these young people. Unfortunately, somebody needs to wake them all up and remember this is a signing competition, not a love fest. The competitive edge is going to go to those who, without being arrogant, seize confidence and out perform their best friend.

Lauren, Haley, Jacob, and Stefano perform "Soul Sister" by Train
With all due respect to Train, after hearing the "Glee" version and now these guys, I wonder how everyone sings their song better than they do. This version wasn't quite as strong as the Warblers, but it most certainly was a lot of fun. Stefano was really in his element, and the girls were terrific. I cannot quite say the same thing for Jacob who simply isn't a "gangster thug".
Ford® Music Video with the American Idols® and the song "World"
By far the best vocal arrangement and performance of any of the videos. A perfect way to celebrate Earth Day.
Scotty, James, and Casey take on "Viva la Vida" by Cold Play
The opening line by Scotty proved exactly what I was talking about yesterday. James vocals and stage presence prove yet again he's got the most star quality of anyone up there with Scotty a close second. Casey, unfortunately, while vocally astute most of the times, those immature facial expressions and pouty teddy bear scruff just didn't fit with either the integrity of this powerfully moving song, nor the caliver of his singing partners. It's obvious who is the fish out of water. Unfortunatley, I hate to keep being so hard on him, but I've given critiques, and I don't see the improvements, not even little ones. Just watch the playback and look for the flubs. Casey was totally out of sync with teh choreography. I loved seeing James and Scotty perform this song. I woudl honestly pay to see them perform together as a duo. They were absolutely brilliant out of their comfort zones in this song proving they ranch of this dynamic duo. I did finally conclude that, sorry James, the scarves have got to go.

Top 7 Performance Show – Haley
| Intro | Casey | Haley | Jacob | James | Lauren | Stefano | Scotty |
Haley's Comet
I couldn't keep my eyes open – if she's this interesting in real life, nothing can hold her back.
Haley performs Adele's "Rolling in the Deep"
The performance began too small for this powerful of a song. Unfortunately, despite some on again - off again great vocals, you had to rise too much to really make the song stand out. This was an unfortunate position that you had to go right after James, who, I'm sorry, probably could have done your song better only because you weren't able to do much but lift off the stool.
Afterthoughts
What if Ryan asked Simon, "Does Haley have anything to be worried about?"
I'd have to say, yes. She's still struggling a bit to find her confidence to really command the stage. She's almost there if the audience gives her another chance, she's got to take a page from the book of King James.

Haley should in no way have been in the bottom three. This is a travesty. Of these four, I ouwld have picked Casey for certain. America got it wrong.
Stefano was a correct choice for the bottom as was Paul. I would have selected Jacob, however, rather than Haley. Haley waa so much stronger than Lauren.
Not getting voted off could be a turning point for Haley. She's got momentum on her side and experience in the bottom three to motivate her to reach the top three.
Should Paul have been selcted to go home, unfortunately, he has been a fish out of water for too long. He's a super nice guy, but nice doesn't necessarily sell records. He may have gotten too comfortable. He was one fo the most gracious losers ever. You will notice there wasn't a lot of crying. Perhaps Paul knew what to expect.

Lauren & Scotty
Lauren lacked a bit of focus, but Scotty showed a more playful side. Overall It wasn't terrible.
Haley & Casey
While they played off each other well, their voices didn't get. I didn't get it. Haley was by far the better of the pair.
Paul, James, Jacob, and Stefano
Jacob was off key for half the first song. Everyone, however, shined together well for "Mrs. Robinson". James and Paul, especially stood out.

8 Perform – Haley
| Intro | Paul | Lauren | Stefano | Scotty | Casey | Jacob | James |
I find it fascinating that the judges finally gave a realistic critique this many weeks into the competition. It's unfortunate they picked you for it especially after Jennifer's plea to save the girls. Ironically, I wouldn't have been as hard on you as they were. You picked a very tough song, you are certainly not Debbie Harry, but compared to Lauren's poor Miley Cyrus, you were fantastic. You brought much more of a full package performance working the stage and commanding the audience than any other performance this evening so far. I liked you, and I think America's going to keep you around for a while. Take the criticism and grow. What do you grow from more, puppy love or tough love?
Afterthoughts
What if Ryan asked Simon, "Wow, is that the first close to a love critique you've given this season?"
I don't give love critiques. I just tell people honestly how it is. Haley's performance was one of her personal bests when it comes to overall stage presence and stage management. Were her vocals a little shaky in the beginning? Maybe, but there were three before her that were worse and were told nothing. I thought Haley was charming showed great showmanship. People talking about wanting to buy front row tickets, this was a performance worth selling. The question is, was this her one hit wonder or a window into what will be to come.
